Sermons and Life Sketch of B.H. Carroll

Experience the fiery conviction, profound biblical exposition, and inspiring testimony of one of the greatest theological minds in Baptist history.

Dr. B. H. Carroll (1843–1914)—founding president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and legendary pastor of First Baptist Church in Waco, Texas—was a towering champion of orthodoxy, biblical inerrancy, and gospel truth. Renowned for his encyclopedic mind, evangelistic fervor, and uncompromising loyalty to the Scriptures, Carroll left an indelible mark on generations of Christian ministers and laymen alike.

Compiled by Carroll’s close associate Rev. J. B. Cranfill, Sermons and Life Sketch of B. H. Carroll, D.D. brings together an invaluable collection of Carroll’s most powerful discourses alongside Cranfill’s intimate biographical portrait. Within these pages, readers will discover Carroll’s dramatic personal testimony in the celebrated sermon, "My Infidelity and What Became of It," tracing his journey from wounded Confederate soldier and skeptic to bold proclaimer of Jesus Christ, along with his masterclass expositions on salvation, repentance, the Holy Spirit, and the doctrines of grace.
